Subject: Safety Recall RVXX1904, I-Shift Transmission Auxiliary Air Tank
Description of Defect:
On certain vehicles, the torque applied to the t-bolt clasps on the transmission auxiliary air tank straps may have been over-torqued potentially causing deformation to the strap where the t-bolt is anchored. The deformation may allow the tbolt to disconnect from the strap allowing the tank to drop to the ground, which may result in debris on the road presenting a risk to other road users.
Models/ Model Years Affected:
Volvo: Certain MY 2019-2020 VAH, VHD, VNL and VNM models manufactured from July 2, 2018 through March 28, 2019.
Vehicle Quantities:
Volvo: Approximately 20,590 vehicles (17,069 in the U.S., 3,111 in Canada and 410 in Mexico).
Dealer’s Responsibility:
