Volvo Trucks
North America (Volvo Trucks
) is recalling certain 2025 VN trucks. The tie rod assemblies may contain an improperly heat-treated ball stud that can fail, resulting in a sudden loss of steering control.
Remedy
Owners are advised not to drive their vehicles until the remedy has been completed. Dealers will inspect and replace the tie rod ends as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed July 5, 2024. Owners may contact Volvo Trucks
customer service at 1-800-528-6586. Volvo

was notified by Dana Incorporated, that they received experimental ball studs in error from their Tier 2 Supplier. Volvo trucks
initiates efforts to identify vehicles impacted by this issue.
June 7, 2023 Product Safety Committee meets and determines that a product safety defect exists. The committee also determined that owners must be notified and strongly recommended to not drive their vehicles until repairs have been completed.
There have been no accidents or injuries associated with this issue, there have been no warranty, or customer complaints.

Description of Remedy Program : Vehicles will be recalled. The remedy will consist of an inspection for the
impacted date range. Any suspect tie rod ends will be replaced. Reimbursement for the recall will be covered by Manufacturer’s Reimbursement Plan on file with NHTSA. How Remedy Component Differs from Recalled Component :
